Woody-based lax perennial herb ; up to 15 cm tall , with several stems . Stems slender , ± erect , branched , white , hirsute becoming glabrous with age . Leaves alternate , narrowly elliptical , attenuate at the base , acute apex , margin with small obscure teeth , slightly hairy . Inflorescences in loose clusters of 1 to 5 . Flowers blue to pale violet , nodding in fruit ; calyx lobes acute , hirsute ; petals tubular-campanulate ; stamens narrowly triangular . Fruit capsule , nodding , round , brown , dehiscing by 3 valves . seeds pale brown . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 3) .
