Annual herb ; up to 30 cm tall , diffusely branched with the main stem . Stems erect , simple or with few branches , slender , hirsute with long hairs of almost uniform length . Leaves 8-25 x 5-15 mm , alternate , sessile , dull green , ± hirsute , ovate to broadly ovate or elliptic , rounded to cuneate base , acute obtuse rounded to cuneate base , margins irregularly dentate , undulate . Inflorescences in a lax panicle ; pedicels 5–20(35) mm . long , hirsute with long hairs of almost uniform length or glabrous . Flowers linear-lanceshaped ; calyx 5-lobed to about half its length , lanceolate , hirsute ; sepals 1 . 2-3 . 2 mm long , often broadened at the base , hairy ; corolla yellow , deeply 5-lobed with lobes almost free ; stamens with filament–bases distinctly broadened , ciliate ; anthers 0 . 6–1 . 6 mm long ; ovary 3-celled , semi-inferior . Fruit capsule , 10-nerved with long hirsute hairs on the nerves , dehiscing by 5 valves . Seeds c . 0–6 mm long , elliptic–oblong in outline , compressed . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 3) .
