A decumbent , annual herb ; up to 15 cm high , with glandular and eglandular hairs . Stems erect , slender , hairy , ± freely branched from the base . Leaves 30–100 × 15–25 mm , pinnatipartite , linear-oblong , apex acute , pinnatifid , decurrent lobes . Inflorescences hemispherical , in heads 6 mm wide . Flowers lilac ; corolla pink to dark purple , 10–13 mm long ; calyx sessile , with 12 awns . Fruit ridged , white with white bristles , black glands along the ridges , hairy pappus . (Ref .
