Annual herb with a slender taproot ; up to 15 cm , glandular-pubescent . Stems erect , simple or basally branched , with glandular hairs . Leaves opposite , simple , few , glandular-hairy , mainly in a basal rosette , few on the flowering stems , spatulate to oblanceolate , apex subacute , base narrowing into the petiole , entire margin ; basal leaves shortly petiolate ; cauline leaves 2-3 remote pairs , ovate-lanceolate , sessile . Inflorescences in terminal umbels , glabrous . Flowers sepals 5 , distinct ; petals 5 , white to pinkish , slightly longer than the sepals ; stamens 3-5 ; styles 3 . Fruit capsule , ovoid-cylindric , exceeding the sepals , opening by 6 valves , curving backwards . Seeds 0 . 5-1 mm , numerous , minutely tuberculate , reddish brown . (Ref .
