Stems prostrate , ascending , several branching from the base , glandular-pubescent . Leaves opposite , simple , linear to filiform , apex mucronate , margins entire , slightly fleshy . Inflorescences in terminal dichasial cymes . Flowers sepals with scarious margins ; petals pink , equalling the calyx ; stamens 2--5 . Fruit capsule , ovoid , 3-valved , usually clearly exceeding the sepals . Seeds 0 . 6-0 . 7 mm , light brown , smooth , unwinged or winged seeds in the same capsule . (Ref .
