Glaucous , small , annual or perennial herb ; up to 3-10 cm long , all parts glabrous . Stems prostrate , slender , numerous , branched at the base but usually unbranched above . Leaves alternate , oblong , slightly fleshy , grey-green , acute tip , attenuate below . Inflorescences on short pedicels . Flowers tiny ; sepals oblong , acute , green , with narrow scarious margins ; petals white , as long as the sepals . Fruit capsule , small , irregularly 3-valved , rather thin-walled .
