A low growing perennial ; up to 20 cm . Stems branched from the base , erect to ascending , spreading , white pubescent with simple sellate hairs . Leaves opposite , greyish , ovate-elliptic , acute tip , shortly cunate at base , hairy with entire margins , petiolate . Inflorescences on one side of the stalk , terminal racemes . Flowers bright yellow ; bracts linear-lanceolate ; sepals 5 , unequal , pubescent ; petals 5 , clear-yellow , obovate , reflexed ; stamens many ; filaments free , glabrous ; style simple , bent near the base ; stigma crenate ; ovary pubescent . Fruit capsule , ovoid , 3-valved , pubescent . Seeds angular , glabrous , granulate , brown . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 1) .
