A densely branched perennial subshrub ; up to 30 cm . Stems and branches erect to spreading , grey , rigid , may be sharply tipped . Leaves opposite or whorled , in fascicles , greyish , obovate-lanceolate or elliptical to linear-lanceolate , acute tip , rounded at base , white-pubescent with revolute or entire margins . Inflorescences simple to fork-shaped , in terminal , one-sided racemes , with 6-12 flowers on each branch . Flowers subsessile , small , bright yellow ; calyx 5 ; petals as long as the sepals , reflexed in daylight ; stamens many . Fruit capsule , ovoid , brown , enclosed within the calyx , hairy or pubescent , 3-valved , many tiny seeds . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 1) .
