Woody based herb forming round , dense clumps ; whole plant covered with erect , stiff , gland-tipped hairs , strongly aromatic ; up to 1m . Stems pale whitish brown , branched throughout . Leaves simple , alternate , broadly ovate to more/less orbicular , tip rounded , margin entire , base rounded , densely glandular-hairy , petiolate . Flowers actinomorphic , in few-flowered , lax terminal racemes , yellow with median reddish brown or purple stripe . Fruit held erect , cylindrical to narrowly ovoid , densely glandular hairy . Seeds reddish brown , minutely papillose . (Ref . Flora of the Arabian Peninsula & Socotra ; vol . 1) .
