Glabrous , climbing annual or perennial herb . Stems twining , often thick . Leaves petiolate , 3 – 12 , ovate , cordate with rather angular , nearly rounded auricles , apex acuminate , both surfaces glabrous . Inflorescence solitary or in shortly pedunculate axillary cymes . Flowers sepals ovate , with whitish margins ; corolla blue to violet with a yellowish throat and white tube , trumpet-shaped . Fruit capsule , ovoid , compressed , glabrous , rostrate . Seeds ovoid , black , shortly pubescent . (Ref . POWO ; 2021) .
