Leaves alternate , 6–15 × 6–15 cm , dark-green , broadly ovate to suborbicular , apex rounded or shortly acuminate , base cordate , margin entire , glabrous or slightly pubescent , covered with black glands on the under surface ; petiole 2–8 cm . Inflorecence in axillary cymes , (1–) 2–several-flowered , almost sessile ; pedicels up to 3 cm . Flowers bright scarlet , funnel-shaped ; sepals ovate , ± emarginate but mucronate , glabrous , smooth ; corolla 6–7 cm , funnel-shaped , purple , mid-petaline areas pubescent at apex . Fruit capsule , 15–18 mm in diameter , globose , pale yellow . Seeds subglobose , 4-angled , brown , shortly pubescent . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 3) .
