Leaves opposite , ± sessile , narrowly elliptic to oblancolate , acute or subacute apex , cuneate base , sub-denticulate or entire margin , glabrous , glaucous . Inflorescences solitary or occasionally in pairs in the leaf-axils , on glabrous slender pedicels up to 1 . 8 cm long . Flowers crowded towards the ends of the branches ; sepals ovate , acute or acuminate , with membranous margins ; petals white or pink , elliptic , blunt or subacute apex . Fruit capsule , globose , splitting into 5 valves . Seeds c . 0 . 4 × 0 . 3 mm , numerous , brown , broadly oblong-cylindric , minutely longitudinally striate . (Ref . POWO ; 2022) .
