Annual herb ; up to 20 cm long , with spreading branches , the whole plant often tinged red . Stems delicate , branched , ascending to ± erect , glabrous to very sparsely pubescent , reddish brown . Leaves opposite , ± sessile , linear to linear-oblong , acuminate apex , rounded base , entire margin , glabrous , greenish-purple . Inflorescences solitary , subsessile , terminal and pseudoaxillary , glabrous . Flowers cyathia ; glands minute , with white or pink appendages ; styles minute , spreading , bifid to halfway . Fruit capsule , 1-1 . 5 mm , acutely 3-lobed , glabrous . Seeds 1 . 25 x 0 . 7 mm , oblong-conical , shallowly pitted , pinkish brown . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 2) .
