Much branched , leafless , perennial succulent shrub ; up to 50 cm tall , glabrous . Stems with spreading cylindrical branches . Leaves ± 5 x 2 mm , lanceolate , soon falling . Inflorescences terminal , axillary , ± 2 . 5 x 4 mm . Flowers cyathia , with funnel-shaped involucre ; glands transversely elliptic , green becoming red . Fruit capsule , ± 7 mm broad , subglobose , green becoming red at maturity . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 2) .
