Euphorbia granulata Forssk.

This species is native to N & E Africa, SW & Central Asia, extending to India. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 28 species of Euphorbia found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Monoecious . Woody-based prostrate annual herb ; up to 10 cm long . Stems prostrate , branched , reddish green to purple-green ; annual stems dying completely after the summer months . Leaves opposite , ± sessile , 1 . 5-5(-8) x 1-4 mm , obovate or oblong-ovate , apex obtuse , sometimes with a small mucro at the apex , base obliquely rounded to subcordate , unequal , margin entire or toothed , glabrous , sparsely pubescent , greenish-purple ; stipules narrow triangular . Inflorescences solitary , axillary , peduncle reflexed at maturity , pubescent , with cup-shaped involucres . Flowers cyathia ; glands minute , red , with minute pink appendages ; male flowers sessile , bracteoles linear , perianth absent ; female flowers reflexed in fruit , perianth a rim , ovary superior , glabrous , 3-celled . Fruit capsule , ± 1 mm , acutely 3-lobed , glabrous , 3-seeded . Seeds 1 × 0 . 5 mm , oblong-conical , acutely 4-angled , pinkish brown , with numerous shallow transverse wrinkles . (Ref .
