Leaves opposite , 4-8 x 2-5 cm , dull green , petiolate , ovate-lanceolate , apex acute , base tapering , margin irregularly serrate , pubescent on the undersurface with multicellular hairs . Inflorescences cyathia densely clustered in terminal and axillary cymes ; peduncle 6-11 mm . Flowers cyathia ; glands yellow , with barrel-shaped involucres , glabrous ; male flowers bracteoles few , ligulate , feathery ; female flower ovary pedicellate , glabrous or occasionally with minute scattered hairs . Fruit capsule , 4-5 mm , deeply 3-lobed , yellow-green , glabrous . Seeds 2 . 6 × 2 . 4 mm , conical with acute apex , bluntly verrucose , blackish-brown . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 2) .
