Leaves 1-foliolate ; leaflets 6 . 5-12 . 5 x 0 . 2-1 . 5 cm , oblong , linear or linear-lanceolate , acute and mucronulate at the apex , subcordate at the base , pubescent , pilose beneath , petiolate . Inflorescences borne in lax terminal or leaf-apposed racemes . Flowers dull purple or orangy ; calyx puberulous or pubescent ; sepals 5-7 mm , scarious ; corolla red or mauve , 5–6 × 3–5 mm , obovate , about as long as the calyx . Fruit pod , linear-oblong , pubescent , transversely ridged , distinctly constricted in between the articles , young pods bright green .
