Astragalus termeanus Maassoumi & Podlech

This species is native to Arabian Peninsula and SE Iran. (Ref. POWO; 2022). There are 8 species of Astragalus found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Annual herb with a woody rootstock . Stems short , the whole plant densely white-pilose . Leaves 3-4 , arising from the base , paripinnate , 6-8 cm long with 12-17 pairs of leaflets ; leaflets 5-8 x 2-3 mm , apical leaflets smaller in size , elliptic , white-pilose on both surfaces . Inflorescences with short pedicels , in pedunculate spicate heads . Flowers pink-purple ; calyx 12-15 mm , 5-lobed , lobes linear , about as long as the calyx tube and almost reaching the corolla , densely pilose ; corolla pink-purple , 12-15 mm . Fruit pod . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 2) .

Not used traditionally. The vernacular name 'frakhat hisaini' literally means "fox tail", referred to the overall look of the plant that entirely covered with dense, soft hairs. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).
