Annual or perennial herb ; up to 30 cm long , woody at the base with many short slender strigulose much-branched stems . Stems prostrate to ascending , branching from the base , glabrous or sparsely appressed pubescent . Leaves 3-foliolate ; leaflets 5-20 (-25) x 2-5 mm , obovate to oblong or oblong to linear-lanceolate , sparsely pubescent or glabrous . Inflorescences in 3-12-flowered lax racemes . Flowers yellow ; calyx 3-5 mm , ± as long as the keel , 2-lipped , lobed into linear-lanceolate , acuminate lobes , pubescent , persistent ; corolla with standard petal pale yellow with dark purple or red veins ; wings much longer than the keel ; keel rounded , 4-5 mm , glabrous or sparsely hairy on the sides ; stamens all joined with 5 long and 5 short anthers . Fruit pods 7-20 x 5-6 mm , ellipsoid-globose , flattened laterally , baked at the apex , shortly pubescent , pale green tinged pink , c . 10–12-seeded . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 2) .
