Cullen plicatum (Delile) C.H.Stirt.

This species is native to NE Africa, Sahara, westwards through Arabian Peninsula to NW India. (Ref. POWO; 2022). There are 2 species of Cullen found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Small perennial shrub or undershrub ; up to 60 cm tall , grey pubescent , weakly spiny . Stems branched , grey-green , ribbed , sparsely pilose and glandular . Leaves trifoliolate ; leaflets 10-25 x 4-12 mm , obovate , irregularly sinuate , acute at the apex , truncate at the base , grey-green , pubescent and glandular . Inflorescences in 1-3 fascicled many-flowered racemes . Flowers white ; calyx 2-lipped , lobes unequal , strongly nerved ; corolla with standard petal , white or purple white ; stamens all united . Fruit pod , ellipsoid , ± as long as the calyx , not beaked , pubescent . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 2) .
