Desmodium ospriostreblum Chiov.

This species is native to western and southern tropical Africa, through S Arabian Peninsula. (Ref. POWO; 2022). There is only one species of Desmodium occurs in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Procumbent or erect annual herb ; up to 40 cm long , with somewhat angled stems . Stems branched , slender , hispid-pubescent , often reddish . Leaves 1-3-foliolate , 10-40 x 6-24 mm , the terminal leaflets largest , ovate to ovate-lanceolate , apex acute to obtuse , base rounded to truncate , hispid and ciliate . Inflorescences in axillary racemes . Flowers pale pink ; calyx 2-3 mm , linear ; corolla with standard petal and wings pale pink , keel pink , magenta distally . Fruit pod , with 3-5(-7) segments , flattened with margins thickened , yellow-green with reddish margins , pubescent and ciliate , reticulately veined , dark brown when mature . (Ref .
