Annual herb often with a woody stock or a perennial herb with annual stems ; up to 30 cm long , the whole plant appear grey-green , appressed white-hairy . Stems ascending to prostrate , diffusely branched from the base . Leaves opposite , imparipinnate with 3-5 leaflets , or sometimes 1-foliolate ; leaflets 7-15 x 4-5 mm , oblong to oblong-lanceolate to obovate or elliptic , entire margins , obtuse often with a short mucro , base tapering , white-hairy . Inflorescences in axillary racemes , short peduncled , shorter than the leaf . Flowers ± sessile , red ; calyx sessile ± 1 mm , acute , densely white-hairy ; corolla with the standard ± 2 mm ; stamens c . 4 . 5 mm long .
