Annual herb often with a woody stock or perennial herb ; up to 25 cm long . Stems much branched , ± erect to ascending to prostrate , spreading , appressed white-pilose . Leaves simple , 1-foliolate , grey-green , sessile , 5-8 x 4-5 mm , broadly ovate , obtuse or acute at the apex , cordate at the base , entire margins . Inflorescences sessile , 3-4 in axillary heads . Flowers dark red ; calyx ± 4 mm , linear , pilose ; corolla with the standard ± 4 mm , bright red , about as long as the calyx , wings ± 3 mm . Fruit pods , 4-5 , somewhate flattened , appressed white pilose , long beaked , 2-seeded . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 2) .
