A spreading annual herb ; up to 30 cm tall , often with a woody stock . Stems ± erect to ascending or trailing , appressed white-strigose . Leaves imparipinnate with 3-5 leaflets ; leaflets 7-20(-22) x 4-8 mm , the terminal leaflets largest , opposite , obovate , obtuse or retuse at the apex , entire margins , white-hairy to glabrous above , strigose-pubescent beneath . Inflorescences borne in axillary racemes , shortly pedunculate . Flowers deep pink or red ; calyx ± 2mm , linear , densely white-hairy ; sepal-cup is 2-3 mm long , velvet-hairy ; corolla with the standard ± 2 mm ; stamens 3–4 mm long . Fruit pods , 12-15 x 2-3 m , somewhat flattened , curved upwards , beaked , with the transverse ridges of septa visible . Seeds ±2 × 1 . 3 mm , flat , kidney-shaped , yellowish , smooth . (Ref .
