Woody-based perennial herb ; up to 40 cm high . Stems prostrate , appressed white-pubescent ; older stems brownish white , younger stems whitish , distinctly zigzag . Leaves imparipinnate with 7-9 leaflets ; stipules ± 1 mm , narrow linear with some dark brown to reddish hairs ; leaflets 2-5 x 1-2 mm , oblong to obovate , apex obtuse or with a short mucro , truncate , base tapering , appressed pubescent on both surfaces . Inflorescences in short few-flowered axillary racemes . Flowers red , ± 4 mm ; calyx ± 2 mm , lobes triangular . Fruit pods , 10-15 x ± 1 mm , not flattened , ± beaked , brownish white , 3-6-seeded .
