الاستخدامات

Powdered paste of Nil is used to stop the bleeding from fresh wounds. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden). Ghazanfar (2007) wrote that: "Nil has been cultivated in Northern and Southern Oman since a long time as a dye plant, it can be found as an escape near habitation. The practice of dyeing with nil is largely discontinued, although in Dhofar during certain festivals such as Eid (celebration after the month of fasting) Dhofari men dress in the traditional indigo blue cloth for traditional celebration ceremonies (Ref. Flora of Oman; vol.2). The fabric used by oman's indigo dyers includes both locally grown and woven cotton". (Ref. Flora of Oman; vol.2).
