Lotus glinoides Delile

This species is native to Macaronesia, Sahara to Pakistan. (Ref. POWO; 2022). There are 5 species of Lotus found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

A dwarf annual herb ; up to 15 cm , with a single tap root . Stems several arising from the base , prostrate , grey-green , sparingly pilose . Leaves 5-foliolate , 2 at the base like stipules ; leaflets sessile , 4-7 x 1-3 mm , oblanceolate , obtuse , cuneate at base , sparsely pilose . Inflorescences in (1-)2-4-flowered axillary umbellate , sessile . Flowers red ; calyx ± 5 mm , tube membranous , lobes acute , pilose on the margins ; corolla ± 4 mm ; upper filament free , the other 9 united . Fruit pod , ± 10 mm , linear , glabrous , brown , slightly torulose , 8–10-seeded . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 2) .
