Lotus halophilus Boiss. & Spruner

This species is native to Mediterranean to Arabian Peninsula and S Iran. (Ref. POWO; 2022). There are 5 species of Lotus found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Procumbent annual herb ; up to 25 cm high , grey-green . Stems selender , trailing , procumbent , several arising from the base , branched , ± prostrate , appressed-hairy . Leaves 5-foliolate , the lowest pair stipule-like on the stem ; leaflets 2-12 x 1-5 mm , oblanceolate to elliptic , tip acute , base cuneate , appressed hairy . Inflorescences axillary , solitary or paired . Flowers yellow ; calyx 5 mm ; upper filament free , the other 9 united . Fruit pod , 15-25 , linear , slightly curved , glabrous , dark brown when mature . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 2) .
