Glaucous perennial shrub ; up to 50 cm high . Stems erect , spreading , glabrous to sparsely pubescent . Leaves often 3-foliolate , but also 1-foliolate present ; petiolule 5-12 mm ; stipules 2-4 mm , bifid , brown ; leaflets with the terminal leaflets larger than the laterals , 5-20(-40) x 4-17(-32) mm , obovate to round , entire margins , obtuse to rounded , sometimes emarginated and mucronate at apex , glabrous to sparsely pubescent . Inflorescences 5-20 , in pedunculate racemes , sparsely pubescent ; pedicel ± 1 . 5 mm . Flowers brown and chaffy in fruit ; calyx 3-4 mm , teeth ± 3 mm , lanceolate , glabrous , but sometimes with a few hairs ; corolla with standard petal 6-8 mm , pink to pale pink with dark pink veins ; wings ± 3 mm .
