Taverniera cuneifolia (Roth) Arn.

This species is native to Somalia, S Arabian Peninsula, Pakistan to India. (Ref. POWO; 2022). There are 5 species of Taverniera found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Woody shrub ; up to 1 m tall . Stems erect , branched from the base , green , white-puberulous to glabrous , with internodes much longer than the leaves . Leaves opposite , very sparse , small , 1-foliolate or occasionally 3-foliolate ; petiolule 0 . 5-2 mm ; stipules 4 mm , bifid , brown ; leaflets 6-14 x 6-10 mm , broadly obovate , entire margins , obtuse or sometimes emarginate and mucronate at apex , glabrous or sometimes the younger leaves with a few hairs , glaucous . Inflorescences in clusters in the leaf axils , glabrous ; pedicel ± 1 . 5 mm . Flowers pink with dark viens , remaining for a long time , becoming dry , brown and papery in fruit ; calyx 2 . 5-3 mm , teeth ± 2 mm , white-pubescent , minutely ciliate on the margins ; corolla with standard petal 8-9 x 6-7 mm , pink to purple with dark veins ; wings ± 4 mm ; keel 7-8 mm .
