Perennial herb ; up to 50 cm high . Stems divaricately branched , branched from the base , slender towards the top , brownish-red , white-pubescent . Leaves imparipinnate , with 7-9 leaflets , grey-green ; petiole up to 30 mm , slender ; stipules ± 6 mm , linear-lanceolate , pilose ; leaflets 15-35 x 3-9 mm , oblanceolate to oblong , margins entire , apex acute to obtuse , apiculate , base obtuse to cuneate , sparsely pubescent on the lower surface , glabrous on the upper surface . Inflorescences in axillary clusters ; pedicel ± 3 mm . Flowers purple to pink-purple ; calyx 3-4 mm , lobes ± 1 . 5 mm , about twice as long as the tube , the upper two joined to 1/2 their length , lanceolate-linear , pubescent ; corolla with standard petal ± 6 mm , pilose on the dorsal surface ; wings ± 6 mm .
