Tephrosia subtriflora Hochst. ex Baker

This species is native to W and tropical E and NE Africa, westwars through Arabian Peninsula to Pakistan, India and Myanmar. (Ref. Flora of Oman; vol.2). There are 6 species of Tephrosia found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Perennial herb ; up to 40 cm high , woody at base . Stems ascending to ± erect , pubescent to ± glabrous . Leaves imparipinnate with 5-7 leaflets , grey-green ; petiole up to 10 mm ; stipules linear , pubescent ; leaflets 20-45 x 4-10 mm , oblanceolate to oblong-lanceolate , margins entire , apex ± acute , apiculate , base obtuse to cuneate , appressed pubescent-sericeous on the lower surface , ± glabrous on the upper surface ; young leaves densely sericeous . Inflorescences 2-6 in clusters in the axils of leaves ; pedicels 2-4 mm , shortly hispid . Flowers purple ; calyx 6-7 mm , lobes 2-4 mm , triangular , acute , the lowest lobe longest , sparsely pilose ; corolla with standard petal ± 9 mm , pubescent on the dorsal surface ; wings ± 7 mm ; Upper filament lightly attached , widened but not callous one-third above the base ; filament-sheath 3–5 mm . , anthers ± 0 . 5 mm . long ; style 1 . 5–2 . 5 mm long , ribbon-shaped , glabrous , up to 0 . 3 mm wide , with a few short hairs at ...
