Tephrosia uniflora Pers.

This species is native to Africa, Arabian Peninsula to India. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 6 species of Tephrosia found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Perennial herb ; up to 40 cm high , woody at base . Stems ascending to prostrate and trailing , much-branched from the base , pubescent to hispid . Leaves imparipinnate with 5-9 leaflets , grey-green ; petiole 5-6 mm ; stipules linear , pubescent ; leaflets 4-7 x 3-5 mm , obovate to obovate-oblong , margins entire , apex rounded , emarginated , apiculate , base obtuse to cuneate , appressed pubescent sericeus . Inflorescences 1-2 in the axils of upper leaves ; pedicel 1-2 mm , shortly hispid . Flowers mauve to purple ; calyx 2-3 mm , lobes 1 . 5 mm , linear , acute , the lowest lobe longest , pilose ; corolla with standard petal 5 mm , silky sericeous on the dorsal surface ; wings 3 mm ; style glabrous , 2 . 5–3 . 5 mm long , twisted , penicillate at the tip . Fruit pod , 28-30 mm , flattened , silky sericeous , beaked at the apex , valves twisting on dehiscence , 9-13-seeded . Seeds c . 2 . 5 x 2 mm . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 2) .
