Vachellia farnesiana (L.) Wight & Arn.

This species is native to Tropical & Subtropical America, pantropical in distribution. (Ref. POWO; 2022). There are 10 species of Vachellia found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Semi-evergreen shrub ; up to 3 m tall . Stems much-branched with stipular thorns ; young branchlets glabrous or nearly so , purplish to grey . Leaves pinnae 2–7 pairs ; leaflets 10–21 pairs , 2–7 mm long , 0 . 75–1 . 75 mm wide , very rarely larger ; stiSpinnae 2–7 pairsules spinescent , usually short , up to 1 . 8(–3) cm . long . Inflorescences in globose heads . Flowers bright yellow , small , puff-likes , weetly scented ; calyx and corolla glabrous outside . Fruit pods , 4–7 . 5 cm long , straight or curved , dark brown , glabrous , subterete , almost woody , indehiscent . Seeds 7–8 mm . long , chestnut-brown , smooth , elliptic , thick , only slightly compressed . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 2) .
