Leaves opposite , ovate to ovate-elliptic , acute tip , entire margin , base tapering into a short winged petiole or leaves sessile , distinctly 3(-5)-nerved , glabrous . Inflorescences 4-merous , in terminal or axillary cymes . Flowers perfoliate , bright pink ; calyx 6-7 mm , lobes lanceolate , winged ; corolla bright pink , 5-lobed above ; stamens with 1-2 staminodes . Fruit capsule , ovate . Seeds not seen . (Ref .
