Leaves opposite , bright green , broadly ovate to ovate to elliptic , acute tip , entire margin , base tapering into a long petiole , glabrous . Inflorescences solitary or in terminal or axillary cymes . Flowers blue to purplish blue , fragrant ; calyx 5-lobed ; corolla blue to purplish blue , 8-11 mm , lobed above ; stamens 5 ; anthers yellow , curved ; style longer than the stamens . Fruit capsule , mucronate . Seeds muricate .
