Erodium malacoides (L.) L'Her.

This species is native to Macaronesia to Pakistan and Somalia. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 5 species of Erodium found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Annual or biennial herb ; up to 40 cm high . Stems prostrate or ascending , pilose with deflexed hairs , often glandular . Leaves long-petiolate , 2-6(-9) x 1-4(-6) cm , cordate at the base , subentire to shallowly 3-5-lobed , crenate-dentate ; petiole up to 6 cm long , shorter in the upper leaves . Inflorescences 3-8-flowered umbels . Flowers mauve ; sepals 3-6(-7) mm , 5-nerved , mucronate ; petals 4-6 mm , mauve . Fruit mericaps , 4-4 . 5 mm long , apical pit wide , glandular , with one distinct furrow below ; beak 2-3 cm . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 2) .
