Clerodendrum phlomidis L.f.

This species is native to Indian Subcontinent, Jawa. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There is only one species of Clerodendrum occurs in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Shrub ; up to 3 m tall , with brown woody aromatic roots . Stems erect , ashy-grey , branches , pubescent ; bark yellow . Leaves opposite , simple , ovate to rhomboid-ovate , 1 . 5-5 cm long , 1-3 cm broad , entire to wavy-toothed , pointed to blunt , membranous ; petiole up to 2 . 5 cm long . Inflorescences cymes dichotomously branched , axillary , forming a rounded terminal panicle ; pedicels 5-10 mm long , densely hirsute ; bracts ovate lanceolate . Flowers small , creamy-white or pale yellowish , c . 1 . 5 cm across , unpleasant smell ; calyx bell-shaped , hairless , pale or somewhat yellowish green , somewhat inflated , 5-lobed ; sepals 4-5 mm long , ovate-triangulate ; tube 2-2 . 5 cm long , much narrower than the calyx , velvety outside ; petals 5 , nearly equal , ovate-elliptic , 7-8 mm long , blunt .
