Isodon rugosus (Wall. ex Benth.) Codd

This species is native to S Arabia (Oman), E Afghanistan to Bangladesh. (Ref. https://en.wikipedia.org). There is only one species of Isodon occurs in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Aromatic shrub ; up to 100 cm tall . Stems erect , much branched , densely stellate tomentose ; branches , slender , quadrangular , leafy . Leaves opposite , broad-ovate to elliptic , rugose , usually green or dark above , densely tomentose , obtuse apex , broadly cuneate to rounded base , crenulate margin ; petiole up to 2 . 5 cms , usually much less . Inflorescences borne in cymes on slender lateral branches , lax , forming often leafy racemes . Flowers white tinged or spotted pink ; calyx 2-3 . 5 mm , campanulate ; teeth short , subequal , broad triangular ; corolla white tinged or spotted pink or violet . Fruit nutlets , 1 . 5 x 1 mm , pale to dark brown , oblong , triquetrous , glabrous , mucilaginous on wetting . (Ref . http://www . efloras . org) .
