Annual herb ; up to 10 cm high , covered with a dense indumentum of short eglandular retrorse hairs . Stems erect , unbranched , leafy . Leaves simple , 15-20 x 7-15 mm , oblong-ovate , base cuneate , apex obtuse , margins crenate , pubescent with sessile glands ; petiol 10-20 mm . Inflorescences in verticils present from near the base of stem ; bracts linear-oblong , sessile or shortly petiolate , with marginal awns 2-4 mm long ; pedicels markedly flattened in fruit . Flowers pale lilac to blue-whitish pink ; calyx 6-7 mm , tubular , 2-lipped , prominently veined with short eglandular spreading hairs and few sessile oil globules ; upper lip 3-lobed , lower 2-lobed , all acuminate with teeth convergent in fruit and closing the mouth ; corolla pale lilac to blue-pink , 7-8 mm , slightly longer than the calyx ; upper lip with 2 longitudinal folds within , almost flat .
