Subshrub ; up to 15 cm high , with a woody base ; whole plant densely white velutinous with dendroidal hairs . Stems erect to ascending , quadrangular , branched from the base , with branched hairs and sessile glands . Leaves few on stems , 6-8 x 3-6 mm , opposite , grey-green , ± sessile , thick and rugose , ovate to ovate-elliptic , base cuneate , apex obtuse , margins entire or obscurely crenate , pubescent with branched hairs and sessile glands , nerves indistinct . Inflorescences (verticils) 1–2- flowered , few on the stems ; bracts linear to ovate ; pedicels 2 mm , ± erect in fruit . Flowers pale blue ; calyx grey-green , 3 . 5-5 mm , campanulate , 2-lipped , densely pubescent with eglandular simple and branched hairs , interspersed with capitate glandular hairs and sessile glands ; upper lip of mucronate teeth ; corolla pale blue , 2-lipped , 5-8 mm ; upper lip ± straight .
