Annual   herb ; upto 1 . 75 m tall . Stems erect to ascending , quadrangular , pale green . Leaves   opposite , 4–8   cm long , serrated margins , bright green . Inflorescences in numerous clusters in a   spike   at the end of each stem . Flowers small , blue , purple , or white . Seeds small , 2 . 1 mm × 1 . 3 mm × 0 . 8 mm , flattened , ovoid , shiny , mottle-colored , with brown , gray , black , and white spots , mucilaginous on wetting .
