Stems erect , quadrangular , intricately branched , rigid , ± glabrous or with adpressed very short eglandular hairs , many orange oil globules present throughout the length of the stems . Leaves very few and distantly placed on the stems , 3-6 x 2-3 mm , opposite , grey-green , ± sessile , oblanceolate , base cuneate , apex obtuse , margins entire or with 2–3 shallow lobes , ± glabrous with short and long eglandular hairs and orange oil globules on both surfaces . Inflorescences (verticils) 1–2- flowered , distantly placed along the stems but usually in the upper part ; bracts ovate , acute ; pedicels 1 . 5-2 mm , elongating and recurved in fruit . Flowers lilac to pale violet ; calyx grey-green , 3-4 mm , campanulate , 2-lipped , densely pubescent with long eglandular spreading hairs and shorter capitate glandular hairs and oil glabules , ciliate on the teeth margins ; upper lip with acuminate spinulose teeth ; corolla lilac to pale violet , 2-lipped , 5-6 mm ;
