Teucrium oliverianum Ging. ex Benth.

This species is native to Arabian Peninsula, and Iran. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 6 species of Teucrium found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

A leafy bushy subshrub ; up to 50 cm tall . Stems erect to ascending , much branched , long , woody . Leaves opposite , grey-green , margins entire . Flowers blue-violet , sour smell ; stamens long . Fruit nutlets .

الاستخدامات


Traditionally, infusion made from boiled whole plant is used for diabetes and high blood pressure. The vernacular name 'jada' literally means "woolly", in referrence to the woolly texture of plant species due to presence of hair. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).
