Utricularia australis R.Br.

This species is native to Old World. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 3 species of Utricularia found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Perennial aquatic herb ; up to 8 cm long , floating , with few filiform rhizoids . Stolons 2 or 3 from the base of the scape , filiform , glabrous , sparingly branched , green to greenish-yellow ; internodes 10 mm . Leaves submerged , very numerous , primary segments pinnately divided , secondary dichotomously divided into many segments , the ultimate segments ± flattened , filiform , green to greenish-yellow ; traps usually numerous , tiny , egg-shaped , bladder-like , dimorphic , lateral , ovoid , with a short stalk ± 2 mm , mouth lateral with 2 simple or branched dorsal appendages ; basal traps ovoid , with a basal mouth ; internal glands 2- and 4-armed . Inflorescences weakly erect , up to 15 cm high , peduncle filiform , glabrous ; scales present in the upper half of the peduncle ; bracts ± circular .
