Stems ascending , somewhat zig-zag , branching intricate , glandular-hairy (often with sand sticking on the stems and leaves) . Leaves opposite to sub-opposite , 2-10 x 2-8 mm , ovate to elliptic to broadly ovate , apex obtuse or apiculate . Inflorescences solitary or paired , sessile , axillary . Flowers white ; sepals ovate , c . 5 mm ; petals absent ; stamens 7 ; staminodes petaloid . Fruit 2-3 mm , recurved , splitting into 1-seeded mericarps , greyish brown . (Ref .
