Limeum arabicum Friedrich

This species is native to Arabian Peninsula. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 2 species of Limeum found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Intricately branched , annual herb or perennial subshrub ; up to 50 cm tall , forming cushion-shaped bush , glandular-hairy throughout . Stems ascending , somewhat zig-zag , branching intricate , glandular-hairy (often with sand sticking on the stems and leaves) . Leaves opposite to sub-opposite , 2-10 x 2-8 mm , ovate to elliptic to broadly ovate , apex obtuse or apiculate . Inflorescences solitary or paired , sessile , axillary . Flowers white ; sepals ovate , c . 5 mm ; petals absent ; stamens 7 ; staminodes petaloid . Fruit 2-3 mm , recurved , splitting into 1-seeded mericarps , greyish brown . (Ref .
