Leaves opposite , 7-30 x 3-8 mm , lanceolate to elliptic or linear-lanceolate or linear-oblong , apex acute , base cordate to auriculate , margins entire , 1-nerved ; leaves reducing in size upwards . Inflorescences in congested pedunculate axillary cymes , peduncle 2-10 mm ; pedicels 2-3 mm , filiform . Flowers pink ; hypanthium cup-shaped , ± 2 mm , including calyx-lobes ; lobes triangular , acuminate , puberulent ; sinus horns distinct in bud ; petals obovate , minute , ± 0 . 5 mm , pinky-white ; stamens 4-8 ; ovary globose , 1 . 5-2 mm in diameter ; style equalling the stamens . Fruit capsule , ± 2 . 5 mm in diameter , globose , papery , translucent , reddish brown , dehiscing irregularly , exceeding the calyx lobes .
