Abutilon bidentatum Hochst. ex A.Rich.

This species is native to Tropical Africa, S Arabian Peninsula, and Indian Subcontinent. (Ref. POWO; 2023). There are 7 known species of Abutilon found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Shrub ; up to 1 m tall , all parts with all parts velvet-hairy to woolly and sometimes also with long simple hairs . Stems with erect to spreading branches . Leaves 2-15 x 1 . 5-12 cm , broadly ovate , acute at the apex , cordate at the base , with serrate-dentate margins ; petiole as long as the blade ; stipules filiform . Inflorescences solitary , in leaf axils or on axillary shoots , ± 2 cm across ; pedicel 2-4 cm , elongating in fruit . Flowers pale-yellow ; calyx 5-7 mm , 5-lobed , acute ; petals ± 8 mm , obovate . Fruit mericarps , 13-16 , spreading stellately at maturity , stellate pubescent on the margins , 3-seeded . Seeds c . 2 . 5 mm long , rounded reniform , with 2 soft tubercles . (Ref .
