Malva ludwigii (L.) Soldano, Banfi & Galasso

This species is native to northern Africa, the Middle East, central Asia, and India, and disjunctly to Namibia and South Africa. (Ref. https://en.wikipedia.org). There are 3 species of Malva found in Oman. (Ref. Oman Botanic Garden).

Annual herb ; up to 30 cm high , with a thick vertical root . Stems prostrate to decumbent , profusely branched , with stellate and simple hairs . Leaves orbicular in outline , ± 2 cm across , lobed with 3-5 deep lobes , then each lobe further 3-5-lobed with shallow lobes . Inflorescences 1-2 , in the leaf axils , subsessile ; pedicel sometimes slightly enlarging in fruit . Flowers white ; epicalyx of 8-10 linear segments , connate below ; calyx 4-5 mm , enlarging in fruit , stellate-hairy ; corolla longer than calyx by half ; staminal tube hairy at the base . Fruit schizocarp , 5-6 mm in diameter , globose , flattened at the top , enclosed in the calyx , composed of 8 to 10 mericarps . Seeds 1 mm across , brown , glabrous . (Ref .
