Woody herb ; up to 15 cm high . Stems prostrate to erect , grey-green , stellate-pubescent . Leaves 15-20 x 5-6 mm , plicate , oblong , apex obtuse , base rounded , margin irregularly dentate , grey-green ; petiole 3–15 mm long ; stipules up to c . 4 mm long , filiform , soon falling . Inflorescences 2-4 , in the leaf axils . Flowers green-yellow ; epicalyx (bracts) membranous , 1 x 2 cm , ovate-cordate , orange to orange-red , enlarging and enclosing the flower and fruit ; sepals 4-5 mm , densely pubescent ; petals green-yellow . Fruit capsule , 4–7 mm long , subglobose , tomentose , with 2–4-seeded cells . Seeds c . 2 mm long , grey , rough . (Ref . Flora of Oman ; vol . 1) .
